Bathroom Activity Centres
The bathroom is considered to have three main activity centres:
- Vanity/Grooming Centre
- Bathing/Showering Centre
- Toilet area
With the size of space in mind, the arrangement of the activity centres within it will depend on the functions of the bathroom.
Ideal Clearances
- A person requires a minimum distance of 500mm clear space to bend over at a basin.
- Where one person is using a basin and a walkway behind is required, a distance of 1100mm is required for passing.
- A walkway of 600mm minimum should be allowed for one person to walk through a space.
